Surface Blowdown (TDS) Control

The BCS 970 combined surface and bottom blowdown control system consists of the BC 970 smart surface and bottom blowdown controller, a CP 930 or CP 950 conductivity probe, a PC F20 or PC F5020 corner probe connection elbow, the BCV 900 surface blowdown control valve and the BCV 700 bottom blowdown valve.

With the BCS 970 the same controller handles both surface and bottom blowdown on a steam boiler.

Correct TDS control keeps the blowdown rate to a minimum and saves energy. Continuous monitoring of boiler water conductivity — and therefore well controlled blowdown — is what prevents water being carried over with the steam.
