Bimetal Thermometers

• The bimetal element is made of two different bonded metal strips. It is wound as a helical spring and rotates about its axis as it senses temperature. Turning the movement shaft at the centre of the system transfers the reading to the pointer on the dial.
• They are used where high measuring accuracy is not required.
