Pneumatically Actuated Butterfly Valves

The butterfly valve with a pneumatic actuator, directional valve and switch box is used to control the flow of liquids or gases such as water, gas or air. The disc turns about an axis to open or throttle the line. Butterfly valves are generally used on large diameter pipes and are common in plants, factories and industrial facilities where water, gas or air has to be controlled.

Depending on the connection size, actuators from 9 Nm to 400 Nm are used, with a switch box and directional valves as optional accessories.

• UDA 040 = 9 Nm
• UDA 052 = 25 Nm
• UDA 063 = 50 Nm
• UDA 083 = 94 Nm
• UDA 092 = 135 Nm
• UDA 105 = 270 Nm
• UDA 125 = 400 Nm

Control is provided in two ways:

1. On/off control
2. Modulating control

Construction

• Aluminium extrusion, resistant to corrosion inside and out, with a cylinder surface produced by high precision machining for long life and a low friction coefficient.
• Compact pistons in a special aluminium alloy, symmetrical and easy to fit, giving fast operation and allowing reverse action simply by swapping the pistons.
• Symmetrical pinion in high quality corrosion resistant steel, allowing installation at 45° or 90° while staying compatible with the piston stroke at every angle.
• Bearing elements in industrial hard plastic for the shortest possible operating time, a low friction coefficient and minimum wear on sliding surfaces.
• Module gears cut on precision machines so that piston and pinion run quietly, smoothly and at maximum efficiency.
• Stainless steel fasteners with long-term corrosion resistance.
• Full compliance with the latest specifications: ISO 5211, DIN 3337 and VDI/VDE 3845 NAMUR, so that solenoids, limit switches and other accessories can be fitted and removed easily and parts remain interchangeable.
