The wafer vulcanised butterfly valve with a stainless disc is designed to seal against a pressure difference in both directions and prevent any backflow in systems built for one-way flow. It does this with a gasket, an O-ring and a precisely machined, flat valve face that seats tightly on the upstream and downstream sides of the valve.
