Expansion Joints

Externally Pressurised Expansion Joints

The externally pressurised flanged expansion joint is a member of the axial metal bellows family. With its flanged connection it is used in all pipe systems carrying any fluid.

EXTERNALLY PRESSURISED EXPANSION JOINTS

Externally pressurised joints are expansion elements that avoid the need for a large number of joints on long pipe runs and reduce the number of anchors and guides that raise installation cost. They are used above all to absorb the expansion and contraction that occurs in buried lines.

They come in two types, flanged and weld neck, whose fields of use differ.

WHAT IS AN EXTERNALLY PRESSURISED FLANGED JOINT?

It is the flange-connected version of the axial metal bellows family. The connection can be a rotating or a fixed flange. With stainless steel bellows and carbon steel inner and outer pipes, the joint is produced for 16 bar and for pressures of 64 bar and above to order.
