Insulation Materials

Applied to the outer surfaces of ducts and large diameter pipe lines in heating, cooling, ventilation and air conditioning systems for thermal insulation and condensation control.
Aluminium foil faced products are recommended in spaces where radiant heat transfer can occur.
The sheets are bonded to the duct surface with the special adhesive recommended by the manufacturer.
Joints must be bonded so that they seal, and covered with insulation tape after bonding where necessary.
Taping must not be so tight that thickness is lost. Self-adhesive sheets need no separate adhesive.
The installation must be protected against puncture and tearing. Where it is exposed to sunlight, a protective jacket or protective paint must be used against UV.
Aluminium foil faced products can be used in enclosed sunlit spaces without a separate covering against UV.
Outdoor applications must be clad within five days.
